We will conduct checks on the families of the young people who committed this serious and cowardly act of discrimination against a child. This is an incident for which we, as social services, will also be involved, to understand how this idea of discrimination could have occurred at such a young age.
The mayor of Gioia del Colle, Giovanni Mastrangelo, is deeply saddened and yet firmly condemns an episode that has shocked so many.
